Hester Klopper from South Africa formally took over Presidency of STTI this afternoon. Her Call to Action, which will inform the next two years of work within STTI, is based on the theme "Serve Locally, Transform Regionally, Lead Globally". The Call to Action involves Servant Leadership, Connectedness, Transformation and Gratitude.
- Servant Leadership is demonstrated by selfless service, compassion and having a heart. Key to servant leadership is a commitment to the development of others.
- Connectedness provides a sense of belonging, and is a sense of being a part of something larger than oneself. Embedded within it is collaboration and networking.
- Transformation is the change in nature and character to respond to globalisation and rapid advances in technology. It includes the principles of member-centred services with local relevance and regional application. It also has a goal of local relevance and equal access to all services and products for all members.
- As part of Gratitude she suggests we use STTI Founders' Day (October 5th) to each give 90minutes of service. This should be something different to our usual work.
